The Lakes and Territories of the Greater 2008 is part theoretical map, part calendar, part poster, and all amazing watercolor & ink artwork. Inspired by old thrift store maps and old fashioned imagination, our map unfolds to find a 2008 land mass with a legend to hidden gems such as: facts about victorian times, time to plant bulbs, collecting old letters and other unnessary but wonderful things. There is also a digital compass rose and other small details that seem to reveal themselves upon closer examination. On the back you’ll find a close-up of a territory filled with fanciful watercolor flowers and a little lyrical line from Lart (“the green car hums like an insect in the wet alley”). The artwork on the poster is visually stunning and certainly suitable for framing to be enjoyed many years after 2008 has passed.

The project was printed in full-color using vegetable-based inks on 100% post-consumer recycled paper by a family-owned printer in Hayward, CA. It measures 4” x 9” folded and 24” x 18” unfolded, 100# Text.
