2008 Endangered Species Calendar & Poster by Jennie Smith

$8.00

ON SALE! ORIGINALLY $11 We loved working with Jennie Smith on her 2007 Little Otsu calendar & poster so much that we couldn’t wait to do another one! And so we bring you the even more amazing 2008 calendar and poster which tackles a representation of threatened and endangered species in California in her Kite Wars form. Both fauna and flora of all shapes and sizes intermingle with abstract animal forms in wonderous detail of graphite and watercolor. And when the year is over (or before it starts), you can turn the calendar over to reveal a companion poster. California has the largest number of endangered species in the mainland US and with the Endangered Species Act in danger itself, this project is not only a wonderful piece of art, but also a reminder of all the natural beauty that can be lost when we don’t protect our biodiversity.

This year, we’re presenting the calendar & poster as a flat offset print. It was printed in Hayward, CA with vegetable-based inks on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. It measures approximately 24” wide by 18” tall and will only ship via USPS Priority Mail rolled in a poster mailer. >>>NOTE: international orders will require extra shipping costs. We will contact you with details after you order<<<

Jennie Smith is a native San Franciscan and current resident. Her art was featured in last year’s Whitney Biennial and is in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the DeYoung Museum.
